Social Status is defined as this: a person's standing or importance in relation to other people within a society.
The question below was asked by a male friend of mine. He wanted to know if women are more attracted to men with social status. As you can see, the majority of women are not. I of course wanted to know if men find it important for their potential mate to have social status (see findings below).
Women:
19% of women who voted said it is important for their partner to have social status.
81% of women who voted said it is not important for their partner to have social status.
Men:
18% of men who voted said it is important for their partner to have social status.
82% of men who voted said it is not important for their partner to have social status.
82% of men and women who voted said it is not important for their partner to have social status.
Based on 243 men and women who voted, aged 18-38
