Reasons why she hasn't reached out after hooking up with you

#Dating + Relationships

After writing ‘reasons why he didn’t reach out after hooking up with you’, I had a few men from our instagram community ask me to explain why a woman would do this after hooking up with a guy.

The most common responses were very similar to what men said in this article. But there was one very common response women mentioned that men did not (read on).

I asked 82 women why they would stop talking to a guy after they’ve hooked up

Here are the most common responses:

  • The sex or hook up wasn’t that good/ they have different sexual preferences
  • They were already talking/ hanging out with someone else they like more
  • They are waiting for the guy to reach out to them first
  • They thought they were interested but only realized after the act that they were not
  • They weren’t that interested to begin with
  • They did not feel enough chemistry to continue exploring things
  • Their only motive was to have sex - nothing more than that
  • Their was no connection aside from physical attraction

What does it mean if she hasn’t reached out after hooking up with you?

The two most common responses from women was that they were either not interested enough to continue exploring things or that they typically wait for the guy to reach out to them because they don’t want to come off as clingy/ they are testing out your interest level.

Should you text her after a hook up?

Uhh, yes 100%. Why wouldn’t you? If you’re no longer interested in taking things further, that should be communicated unless the situation was very clear or something happened that possibly didn’t warrant that sort of communication.

If you’re still very much interested in exploring things with her, you should most definitely reach out to her even if its just to check her interest level. If she’s short, unengaged or “too busy” to hang out without posing a different day to see each other, there is a high possibility that she is not interested in taking things any further.

How to handle rejection

Everyone prefers something or someone else and this has nothing to do with you personally, it has to do with their personal preference. If you haven't embodied this simple yet profound perspective, you will 100% be offended when they tell you they are not interested in you or if they're too cowardly to be honest about this. Ever heard the saying, “You can be the ripest, juiciest peach in the world and there will still be somebody who hates peaches”? All you gotta do is find yourself a peach lover. Sounds easy right? How do you find yourself a peach lover? By not wasting time trying to convince a grape lover to love peaches.

I hope this gave you some clarity if you’re currently in this situation. Feel free to message me on Instagram if you have a different scenario or question you want insight on.
